📋 Information We Collect

When you use Cakes Design, we may collect the following types of information:

• Account information — When you sign in with Google, we receive your name, email address, profile photo, and unique Google user ID.
• User-generated content — Reviews, ratings, and comments you submit within the app are stored to power the community features.
• Usage data — Anonymous data about how you interact with the app (e.g., which recipes you view) may be collected to improve the experience.
• Device information — Basic device identifiers may be collected by our advertising partners (see Advertising section).

We do not collect your location, contacts, camera, or microphone data.

🎯 How We Use Your Information

The information we collect is used solely to:

• Display your name and profile in reviews and comments you submit.
• Allow you to edit or delete your own reviews.
• Improve the app's recipe recommendations and user experience.
• Serve relevant ads through Google AdMob (see Advertising section).
• Respond to support inquiries when you contact us.

🔐 Google Sign-In & Authentication

Cakes Design uses Google Sign-In via Firebase Authentication. When you choose to sign in, Google authenticates your identity and passes a secure token to our app. We receive only the information listed above and do not store your Google password.

Signing in is entirely optional. You can browse and view all recipes without an account. An account is only required to post ratings and comments.

You can sign out at any time from within the app. Signing out removes your session from the device.

☁️ Firebase & Data Storage

Cakes Design uses Google Firebase for its backend infrastructure, which includes:

• Firebase Authentication — Manages user sign-in sessions securely.
• Cloud Firestore — Stores recipe data, user reviews, and ratings. Data is persisted locally on your device for offline access.

Firebase data is stored on Google's secure servers. Please refer to Google's Privacy Policy at policies.google.com/privacy for details on how Google handles this data.

📢 Advertising

Cakes Design displays ads through Google AdMob. AdMob may collect and use certain information from your device — such as advertising identifiers — to show personalized or contextual ads.

This data is governed by Google's advertising policies. You can opt out of personalized advertising at any time through your device settings:

• iOS: Settings → Privacy & Security → Apple Advertising → turn off Personalized Ads.
• Android: Settings → Google → Ads → Delete advertising ID or opt out of Ads Personalization.

🤝 Data Sharing

We do not sell, rent, or trade your personal information. We share data only in the following limited circumstances:

• Service providers — Google (Firebase, AdMob) as described above. These providers are bound by their own privacy policies and data processing terms.
• Legal requirements — If required by law, court order, or to protect the rights and safety of our users or the public.
• Business transfers — In the event of a merger or acquisition, user data may be transferred as part of the transaction, with continued protection under this policy.

🗓️ Data Retention

We retain your account data and user-generated content (reviews, ratings) for as long as your account is active or as needed to provide our services.

If you wish to delete your account and all associated data, please contact us at the email below. We will process your request within 30 days.

Depending on your location, you may have the right to:

🧒 Children's Privacy

Cakes Design is not directed at children under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child has provided us with personal data, please contact us and we will delete it promptly.

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time to reflect changes in our practices or applicable law. When we do, we will update the "Last updated" date at the top of this page.
